ING is a global financial institution that in recent years has rolled out a new global intranet. How did they deal with design and technical challenges when implementing a multilingual, cross domain global intranet in more than 30 countries?

Aletta van Asperen currently works at ING Group as a communications innovation expert. She is an enthusiastic senior communication manager with many years of experience in the field of digital communications, global intranets, content and advice. Skilled in international and multi-stakeholder projects she likes to bring people with different backgrounds together to deliver great results.
Margriet has a more than two-decade career in the IT industry, primarily focused on Microsoft technology. Starting as a software developer, she was among the first eleven globally to receive the prestigious SharePoint Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award. Margriet has earned a total of 5 MVP awards and multiple Microsoft Community Contributor (MCC) awards. Her contributions extend beyond accolades—she has authored, co-authored, and contributed to thirteen books published by respected names like MS Press, Manning Press, and APress. Additionally, Margriet has written numerous articles for professional journals and actively participated as a speaker at events such as MS TechNet and SharePoint Connection. Currently, she holds the position of ING Chapter Lead for Employee Engagement, skillfully combining managerial responsibilities with technical expertise, making her role both fulfilling and enjoyable.
